A Mysterious Crater found in Antarctica

Among seven continents of the world, Antarctica is covered mostly  by ice in almost all parts of it. In fact, one can see only snow and ice bergs everywhere in this great mysterious continent. Naturally it provides many mysterious things and recently scientists have researched here and discovered a giant crater in that continent.

Initially it was assumed that the fall of a meteorite on that area might have caused this crater. But, the scientists have come to a conclusion that the water held in a lake drained through a vertical drainage, and that could be only  reason for the formation of the crater.

The lake is actually found on the eastern side of Antarctica and ice layer and bergs inside it melts because of continuously blowing warmer wind than that blows on the western part. However, the snow fall rate is higher in eastern Antarctica since the warm air can hold more moisture than cold one.
