Different Types Of Diabetes And Tips To Control It

Diabetes is a common disease to mankind which generally occurs when the amount of blood sugar increases above normal. The main reason for this disease is the failure of pancreas to produce enough insulin. The insulin is a hormone  secrets in pancreas helping transfer glucose to our body cells. Whenever the pancreas in human bodies is not able to make insulin or enough insulin, the blood sugar level increases and diabetes occurs.

Medical scientists have classified diabetes into three different types. Type1, Type 2 and Gestational are they.

Type 1 diabetes normally occurs when pancreas is completely unable to produce insulin. This is also known as Juvenile-onset diabetes because it is mostly found among children and people under 35  years.  The studies have shown that about 10% of diabetics are suffering from this type. The patients have to inject insulin daily and follow proper food habit and mild body exercise to control this type of diabetes.

Type 2 is the other type of diabetes and more than 85% of diabetics have it. The main reasons for this type of diabetes are deficit insulin and resistance for insulin secretion. Though it is defined as genetic disease, overweight and improper dieting have become main reasons to get this. Generally people who have crossed above 45 years will get this type 2 diabetes  This late-onset type of diabetes can be easily controlled initially by taking tablets. However, insulin injection and proper monitoring of blood sugar will be essentially required in later years.  It is also worthy to note that the people who have type 2 diabetes should find it necessary to follow proper diet and mild body exercise to avoid  heart diseases.

Gestational Diabetes is a type of diabetes that occurs normally during pregnancy and only 2 to 3% of women may have this problem.  However, the blood sugar level will get to normal after giving baby birth  In many cases it will occur only after fifth month of pregnancy period. Some serious effects of gestational diabetes are extra growth of baby and baby may get diseases like jaundice and breathing problem. The women having obesity and blood pressure have greater chances to get this type of diabetes during pregnancy period

Tips to Control Diabetes

Of course, diabetes is not a serious health problem and any type of it can be easily managed with the proper administration of insulin and taking diabetic pills. Proper diet and doing regular mild body exercise can be helpful to control it. Regular monitoring of blood sugar level is very important to any one who has diabetes. Self control on eating white sugar, sweets and starch rich food things is necessary for every diabetic to maintain normal blood sugar. Eating fiber rich vegetables and less sweet fruits are really good habits for  diabetics  to lead a peaceful and healthy long life.
