India has no more new diesel or petrol cars on its roads by 2030

With the appreciable power production in recent years India has planned to boost the manufacturing of electric cars instead of that run in petrol or diesel. The main objective of promoting electric cars is just to lower the import cost and the running cost of cars as well.

Ministry of Heavy Industries and the NITI are joined together on the policy of promoting electric vehicles on the interest of country economy

"We are in the planning of large scale  making of electric cars and going to manufacture electric vehicles self sufficient like UJALA. Actual idea is that there would be no more selling of diesel or petrol car in the country by 2030" words by power minister of India Piyush Goyal while addressing the CII annual session 2017.

In this session Goyal cited Maruti which has made over 30 percent good profit and also added, government is ready to offer full support to the automotive companies that are ready to make in large scale.

It is also hoped that people will prefer electric cars when they find it more economical than diesel or petrol cars.
